『삼국사기(三國史記)』에 백제의 왕이 청색의 금(錦)직물로 만든 바지를 입었다는 기록이 있으나, 아쉽게도 유물은 남아 있지 않다. 동시대의 유물이자 일본이 백제로부터 기술을 전수 받아 만든 것으로 알려진 정창원(正倉院) 소장의 한금(韓錦)과 중국 북조(北朝) 시대의 금직물 무늬를 조합하여 새롭게 제직하였다.
History of the Three Kingdoms states that the King of the Baekje Kingdom wore baji made of geum silk fabric. Regrettably, these clothes are known only in the historical record in Korea. This fabric was reproduced in reference to the artifact made by the contemporaneous Japanese using technology learned from the Baekje Kingdom, which is in the collection of the Shosoin Repository in Japan and patterns shown on geum dating to the Northern Dynasties of China.
