Onjium presented 'Dajeom(다점),' a pop-up that drew on the tea culture of the Goryeo period to explore contemporary spaces and experiences centered on tea. Reinterpreting a culture that flourished among royalty, the aristocracy, scholars and Buddhist monks, the project reimagined the dajeom—a place to share tea and spend time together—for the present day.The exhibition space drew on Goryeo’s rich colors, vessels and the artistic pleasures associated with tea, bringing together displays, products and programs. By creating a place where people and experiences gathered around tea, the pop-up gave contemporary expression to the dajeom’s role as a setting for conversation and rest.In conjunction with the pop-up, Onjium and Onharu presented 'Daban(다반),' a tea gathering inspired by Goryeo tea culture and the food of the Kaesong region(개성). Drawing on the Goryeo practice of sharing food and enjoying cultural pursuits over tea, the program brought tea, food and vessels together in a carefully composed experience.Combining tea and vessels curated by Onjium with food by Onharu, the gathering offered a contemporary interpretation of hospitality and companionship centered on tea. Through the sensory experiences and personal connections that tea makes possible, the program revisited the sensibility and aesthetics of Goryeo tea culture in a present-day setting.
