2016 아름지기 기획전 《저고리, 그리고 소재를 이야기하다》는 여성 전통복식의 기본이 되는 치마저고리를 중심으로, 시대에 따라 변화해 온 우리 복식의 미감과 소재의 의미를 조명하는 전시다. 온지음 옷공방은 유물 연구를 바탕으로 각 시대를 대표하는 치마저고리를 재현함으로써 전통 복식의 구조와 비례, 조형적 아름다움을 입체적으로 살펴본다. 특히 금(錦), 라(羅), 인화문사(印花紋紗) 등 선조들이 귀히 여긴 직물의 물성과 장식적 가치를 현대 기술로 되살려, 전통 소재가 지닌 미적 잠재력을 동시대의 감각으로 제시한다.
Arumjigi’s 2016 exhibition "Jeogori, and Stories about Materials" explores the changing aesthetics of Korean dress and the significance of its materials through the chima (skirt) and jeogori (jacket), which form the foundation of traditional Korean women’s attire. Drawing on research into surviving garments, Onjium Clothing Studio recreates chima and jeogori representative of different periods, offering a multifaceted examination of the structure, proportions, and sculptural beauty of traditional dress. In particular, the studio uses contemporary technology to revive the material qualities and decorative value of textiles prized by earlier generations—including geum (錦, silk brocade), ra (羅, silk gauze), and inhwamunsa (印花紋紗, patterned silk gauze)—revealing the aesthetic potential of traditional materials through a contemporary sensibility.
