아름지기 〈덕수궁 즉조당 정비 및 가구 재현〉 보료 제작 Recreation of Traditional Floor Bedding for Jeukjodang Hall, Deoksugung Palace — Arumjigi

옷공방은 재단법인 아름지기가 주관한 ‘궁궐 전각 정비 및 내부 집기 재현’ 프로젝트에 참여하여, 덕수궁 즉조당의 보료 일체와 방석을 연구·제작하였다. 본 프로젝트는 왕의 집무 공간이 지녔던 위계와 격식을 바탕으로, 궁궐 내부 집기의 기능과 형식을 고증을 통해 재현하고자 기획되었다.즉조당은 왕의 공식 집무실로 사용된 공간으로, 정사를 보는 왕의 자리에는 평상을 두고, 그 위에 겨울에 사용할 보료와 장침, 단침을 갖추고, 어명을 받는 신하의 자리에는 방석을 두어 역할에 따른 구분이 드러나도록 하였다. 온지음 옷공방은 관련 문헌과 유물 자료에 대한 연구를 바탕으로, 재료와 구성, 제작 방식을 정교하게 검토하여 집기를 완성하였다.

Clothing Studio participated in the 'Palace Hall Restoration and Interior Furnishings Reproduction' project organized by the Arumjigi Foundation, researching and producing a complete set of boryo(보료), traditional padded floor bedding, and sitting cushions for Jeukjodang Hall(즉조당) at Deoksugung Palace(덕수궁). Drawing on the hierarchy and formal conventions of the king’s working quarters, the project sought to recreate the functions and forms of palace furnishings through historical research.Jeukjodang served as the king’s official office. A raised wooden platform marked the king’s seat for conducting state affairs, furnished with boryo for winter use and long and short pillows. Sitting cushions were placed for officials receiving royal commands, making the distinction between their roles visible within the space. Through research into relevant documents and surviving objects, Clothing Studio carefully examined the materials, composition and construction methods to recreate these furnishings.
