공예트렌드페어 KIST 한국과학기술연구원 X 온지음 부스 참여 Craft Trend Fair: KIST × Onjium Booth

옷공방은 한국과학기술연구원과 함께 공예트렌드페어에 참여하여, 전통 직물에 대한 연구를 바탕으로 한복 소재의 현대적 확장을 선보였다. 본 프로젝트는 고려시대 직물 ‘라(羅)’의 조직을 참고하여, 전통 섬유의 구조와 미감을 오늘의 방식으로 구현하고자 기획되었다.숙사와 생사를 활용해 직기로 재현한 라 조직의 원단과 이를 적용한 한복을 함께 제안함으로써, 전통 직물의 기술과 아름다움을 동시대의 소재와 제작 방식으로 풀어냈다. 유물 연구를 기반으로 전통 섬유의 가능성을 확장하고, 한복 소재의 새로운 방향을 모색한 사례이다.

Clothing Studio participated in the Craft Trend Fair with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), presenting new possibilities for hanbok materials through research into traditional textiles. Drawing on the weave structure of Ra(라, 羅), an openwork silk textile from the Goryeo period, the project explored ways to recreate the structure and aesthetics of traditional textiles for contemporary use.The presentation brought together Ra fabric woven on a loom using degummed and raw silk yarns, alongside hanbok made from the fabric. Through contemporary materials and production methods, the project gave renewed expression to the technical skill and beauty of traditional weaving. Grounded in the study of historical textiles, it expanded their potential and explored new directions for hanbok materials.
