디자인실은 유물 및 소장품을 포장하는 전통 솜포에서 영감을 받아 〈솜포 패키지〉를 개발하였다. 깨지기 쉬운 내용물을 안전하게 보호하고 보관하는 것을 기본 기능으로 삼아, 도톰한 솜을 면으로 감싼 뒤 스티치로 디테일을 더하는 방식으로 제작하였다. 안정적인 비율과 세련된 실루엣을 구현하였으며, 일회용이 아닌 다회용으로 활용할 수 있도록 설계하여 지속 가능한 패키지 디자인으로서의 의의를 함께 담았다.
The Design Dept. developed Sompo Packaging, inspired by traditional padded cloth wraps used to protect historical objects and treasured collections. Designed to safeguard fragile contents during handling and storage, it is made by enclosing thick cotton padding in cotton fabric, with stitching adding subtle detail.Balanced proportions and a refined silhouette give the packaging a distinctive form. Designed for repeated use, it offers a sustainable approach to protecting and storing cherished objects.
