〈구름 무늬 및 한지 벽지〉 개발 〈Cloud Pattern & Cloud Pattern Hanji Wallpaper〉

디자인실은 유물 속 다양한 구름문양을 연구하여 전통성과 현대적 감각을 함께 담은 구름무늬 패턴을 개발하였다. 구름무늬는 삼국시대부터 동물과 함께 사용되어 온 자연산수무늬 중 하나로, 특정 단일 유물이 아닌 고려부터 조선에 이르는 현존 유물 자료를 폭넓게 참고하여 패턴을 완성하였다. 시간과 계절에 따라 끊임없이 변화하는 구름의 속성을 부드럽고 유려한 문양의 흐름으로 풀어냈으며, 전통 의복에서 찾은 배색과 새로운 색의 조합을 통해 다양한 소재와 공간에 적용할 수 있도록 하였다.이러한 연구를 바탕으로 LX하우시스와 협업하여 구름무늬를 적용한 한지 벽지를 개발하였다. 한지 재질의 벽지에 문양을 섬세하게 프린팅하고, 다양한 공간에 자연스럽게 어우러지는 색감을 더해 전통의 미감이 일상의 공간에 스며들도록 하였다.

The Design Dept. studied cloud motifs found on historical objects to develop a pattern that brings traditional forms together with a contemporary sensibility. Part of a broader repertoire of nature and landscape motifs, clouds have appeared alongside animal imagery since the Three Kingdoms period. Rather than drawing on a single object, the design references a wide range of surviving examples from the Goryeo and Joseon periods. The ever-changing nature of clouds across time and seasons is expressed through soft, flowing forms, while color palettes drawn from traditional clothing, alongside new combinations, allow the pattern to be adapted to diverse materials and spaces.Building on this research, the studio collaborated with LX Hausis to develop hanji wallpaper featuring the cloud pattern. Delicately printed on the paper’s surface, the motif is presented in colors chosen to sit naturally within a variety of interiors, bringing traditional Korean aesthetics into everyday spaces.
