부산 복합문화공간 F1963에서 열린 아름지기 20주년 기획전 《CONNECTING 아름답게, 전통을 이어 일상으로》는 지난 20년간 축적된 연구와 창작의 성과를 보다 확장된 규모로 펼쳐 보이며, 전통을 오늘의 삶과 연결하려는 아름지기의 지향을 공유하는 자리다. 재생 건축 공간인 F1963의 장소성과 맞물려, 전시는 전통과 현대, 산업과 문화, 지역과 세계를 잇는 다층적인 ‘연결’의 의미를 제시한다.온지음은 맛공방, 옷공방, 집공방이 함께 참여하여 그간 축적해 온 전통 의식주 연구의 결과를 전시 맥락 속에서 새롭게 조망한다. 기존 작품을 중심으로 구성된 이번 참여는 전통의 원형을 동시대의 감각으로 해석해 온 온지음의 실천을 한 자리에서 공유하는 계기가 되며, 연구와 창작의 축적이 어떻게 오늘의 생활 문화로 확장될 수 있는지를 보여준다.
Held at F1963, a multidisciplinary cultural space in Busan, Arumjigi’s 20th-anniversary exhibition "CONNECTING" presents two decades of research and creative practice on an expanded scale, sharing Arumjigi’s commitment to connecting tradition with life today. In dialogue with F1963’s identity as a repurposed industrial site, the exhibition explores the multiple meanings of “connection”—between tradition and the contemporary, industry and culture, and the local and the global.Onjium brings together its Food, Clothing, and Housing Studios to revisit its accumulated research into traditional Korean food, dress, and domestic space within the context of the exhibition. Composed primarily of existing works, its presentation offers an opportunity to bring together Onjium’s ongoing efforts to interpret traditional forms through contemporary sensibilities, demonstrating how a sustained body of research and creative work can find new expression in everyday life today.
