Onjium’s Food Studio has published Onjium’s Richelieu Story, a free e-book tracing its journey from a modest, single-table kitchen to Richelieu, a small town in France. Invited to host a Korean food pop-up, the team spent just over two weeks preparing meals while exploring local ingredients and food culture. The project took place before collaborations between restaurants and international culinary events became commonplace, and before Korean cuisine drew widespread global attention. It captures the warmth of encounters between people and cultures in an unfamiliar setting. Through stories of cooking and sharing meals with local farmers, artisans, merchants, artists, and residents, alongside the Onjium recipes developed during the visit, the book explores how Korean cuisine can evolve in a new setting and resonate with those who encounter it.
