‘골동과 가죽’은 옛 물건의 형태와 구조, 제작 방식과 쓰임을 연구하고, 이를 가죽의 물성과 제작 기법으로 새롭게 구현하는 온지음 에디션 시리즈입니다.〈바늘겨레를 닮은 작은 가방〉은 바늘과 실을 한데 모아두던 보관함인 ‘바늘겨레’에서 출발했습니다. 작은 것도 귀하게 여기며 정성껏 간직하던 옛 삶의 태도를 바탕으로, 바늘겨레 특유의 형태와 여닫이 방식을 오늘의 쓰임으로 이어갑니다.천연 원석 구슬을 잡고 아래로 당기면 고리와 카드 수납 칸을 갖춘 내부 가방이 드러나고, 손잡이 끈을 위로 당기면 다시 하나의 가방으로 정리됩니다. 베지터블 소가죽의 질감과 원석 구슬이 어우러지며, 물건을 꺼내고 간직하는 일상의 동작에 전통 기물의 지혜를 더합니다.
'Antiques and Leather' is an ONJIUM Edition series exploring the forms, structures, making methods and uses of historical objects, reinterpreting them through the material qualities and crafting techniques of leather.A Small Bag Inspired by a Needlework Case takes its form from the baneulgyeore(바늘겨례), a traditional case for keeping needles and thread together. Reflecting an appreciation for even the smallest belongings, the design adapts the case’s distinctive shape and opening mechanism for contemporary use.Pulling the natural stone bead downwards reveals an inner bag fitted with a loop and card compartments. Drawing the handle strap upwards brings the pieces back together into a single bag. Vegetable-tanned cowhide and a natural stone bead bring tactile character to the design, carrying the ingenuity of a traditional object into the everyday gestures of retrieving and keeping personal belongings.
