〈다각가방과 참〉 개발 〈Polygon Bags and Charms〉

디자인실은 세종문화회관과 협업하여 서울시무용단의 대표작 〈일무〉에서 영감을 얻은 굿즈 컬렉션을 개발하였다. 〈일무〉가 담고 있는 전통의 의례적 상징과 예술적 정서를 일상의 감각으로 전하기 위해, 무대 위 상징적 장식을 현대적 오브제로 재해석하였다.문무를 출 때 사용하는 '적'에서 착안하여, 끝에 달린 채단 장식의 다각 형태를 입체화한 다각 가방(흑색·호색 2종)과 다각 주머니(먹색·소색·유록색 3종), 적에 드리운 구슬 장식을 닮은 원석구슬 참, 용의 머리를 형상화한 용머리 참, 꿩 깃털 장식을 현대적으로 풀어낸 가죽 참으로 구성하였다. 전통의 미감과 현대적 실용성을 균형 있게 담아, 공연의 여운을 일상 속에서 오래 간직할 수 있도록 하였다.

The Design Dept. collaborated with the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts to develop a merchandise collection inspired by Ilmu(일무), a signature work of the Seoul Metropolitan Dance Theatre. Reinterpreting symbolic ornaments seen on stage as contemporary objects, the collection brings the performance’s ritual symbolism and artistic sensibility into everyday life.The designs draw on the jeok(적), a ceremonial implement used in the civil dance. The polygonal forms of its colored silk ornaments are translated into three-dimensional bags in black and warm pink, and pouches in ink grey, natural ivory and willow green. The collection also includes natural stone bead charms recalling the beads suspended from the jeok, dragon-head charms, and leather charms that offer a contemporary interpretation of its pheasant-feather decoration.Balancing traditional aesthetics with contemporary practicality, the collection allows the memory of the performance to remain part of everyday life.
