〈백자 주병과 잔〉 개발 〈White Porcelain Liquor Bottle and Cups〉

재단법인 아름지기와의 공동 상품 기획의 일환으로, 온지음 디자인실과 국내 도예 작가가 협업하여 백자 주병과 잔을 개발하였다. 본 상품은 관례에서 술을 마시는 행위가 지닌 상징적 의미에 주목하여 기획되었다. 과거 관례에서 음주는 새로운 사회적 지위와 관계를 받아들이는 절차로, 성인으로서의 책임과 역할을 다짐하고 공동체 안에서 새로운 역할을 인정받는 의례적 순간이었다. 백자 주병과 잔은 이러한 전통의 가치를 오늘의 삶 속에서 새롭게 경험할 수 있도록 하는 데 기획의 의도를 두었다. 백자 고유의 고즈넉한 정취와 은은한 질감을 현대적 실루엣으로 재해석하였으며, 제작 과정에서 손의 흔적이 형태에 자연스럽게 남아 흙의 물성과 작가의 손길이 그대로 전해지는 것이 특징이다.

As part of a joint product initiative with the Arumjigi Culture Keepers Foundation, the Design Dept. collaborated with a Korean ceramic artist to develop a white porcelain wine bottle and cups.The project draws on the symbolic significance of drinking in gwallye(관례), the traditional Korean coming-of-age ceremony. Sharing in this ritual marked the acceptance of a new social standing and new relationships, affirming the responsibilities of adulthood and the individual’s recognized place within the community. The bottle and cups invite these traditional values to be experienced anew in contemporary life.The quiet character and subtle texture of white porcelain are reinterpreted through a contemporary silhouette. Traces of the making process remain naturally visible in the form, conveying both the material qualities of clay and the touch of the artist’s hand.
