디자인실은 대한민국 외교부를 위한 상품으로 '건곤감리 풍경'을 디자인하였다. 공예적 아름다움과 은은한 종소리로 한국적 정서를 전하는 전통 오브제인 풍경을 바탕으로, 한국의 상징을 입체적으로 담아낸 상품으로 기획되었다. 바람에 따라 자유로이 흔들리는 바람판은 무궁화를 도형화한 오각 형태로 제작하였으며, 태극기의 건곤감리를 새겨 넣어 한국의 상징성을 디테일로 구현하였다. 바람판 아래에는 흰색·빨간색·파란색·검정색의 술을 길게 달아 펄럭이는 태극기를 형상화하였다.
The Design Dept. designed the Geon-Gon-Gam-Ri Wind Chime for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Drawing on the traditional wind chime, an object that conveys Korean sensibilities through its craftsmanship and gentle sound, the design brings Korea’s national symbols into three-dimensional form.The wind catcher, which sways freely in the breeze, takes the shape of a pentagon abstracted from the five-petalled mugunghwa(무궁화) (Rose of Sharon), Korea’s national flower. It is engraved with geon, gon, gam and ri(건곤감리), the four trigrams of the Korean flag. Long tassels in white, red, blue and black hang below, evoking the flag fluttering in the wind.
