조선시대에 많이 사용된 생고사에 표주박무늬를 넣어 제직하였으며, 표주박무늬는 벽사(辟邪)의 의미와 함께 자손 번창의 의미를 담고 있다. 경사에는 견사를, 위사에는 텐셀 또는 모달을 사용하였다.

The gourd was woven on saeng-gosa, which was widely used during the Joseon period. The gourd design symbolizes a charm to ward off evil spirits and bring prosperity to offspring. This fabric was formed by weaving silk warp threads with tensil or modal weft threads. This fabric was produced with support of KIST in 2020.
