영조 도포*는 한 종광에 경사 두 올씩을 끼워 제직하여 경사가 두 올씩 몰려있는 변화평직물을 소재로 제작되었다. 이 소재와 유사하게 만들기 위해 가늘고 성글지만, 경사의 꼬임이 없는 반투명한 원단을 제직하였다.

Dopo (men’s outer robe) worn by King Yeongjo, National Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 220 in the collection of Pagyesa Temple, was made from a variation of plain-weave with two warp threads passing through one harness. To make a similar fabric, thin and sparse see-through fabric was woven without twisting the warp threads.
