아름지기 〈창덕궁 희정당·대조전 일원 전등 전기시설 및 공간 재현〉 참여 Recreation of Lighting, Electrical Systems and Interiors in and around Huijeongdang and Daejojeon Halls, Changdeokgung Palace — Arumjigi

옷공방과 집공방은 재단법인 아름지기가 주관한 '창덕궁 희정당·대조전 일원 전등·전기시설 및 공간 재현' 프로젝트에 함께 참여하였다. 본 프로젝트는 근대 궁궐의 생활 양식을 보여주는 공간의 기능과 감각을 회복하여, 문화유산을 ‘살아있는 공간’으로 다시 경험할 수 있도록 하는 데 목적을 두었다.집공방은 희정당과 대조전에 남아 있던 전등 기구와 전기 시설에 대한 실측과 해체 조사를 바탕으로, 각 분야 장인과 협업하여 등기구를 보수하고 현대의 전압과 규격에 맞게 재정비하였다. 이를 통해 샹들리에를 비롯한 조명 기구에 다시 불을 밝히고, 공간의 원래 기능과 분위기를 회복하였다.옷공방은 대조전 대청 천정 샹들리에를 감싸고 있던 직물의 복원 작업을 맡아, 직물의 두께와 조직, 무늬의 구성과 바느질 기법 등을 면밀히 분석하여 유물의 형식을 재현하였다. 훼손되어 있던 직물을 새롭게 제직함으로써, 조명과 함께 공간의 완결성을 회복하였다.

Clothing Studio and Housing Studio jointly participated in the 'Recreation of Lighting, Electrical Systems and Interiors in and around Huijeongdang(희정당) and Daejojeon(대조전) Halls at Changdeokgung(창덕궁) Palace' project, organized by the Arumjigi Foundation. The project sought to restore the function and atmosphere of spaces that reflect life in the palace during the modern era, allowing visitors to experience cultural heritage as a living space.Drawing on detailed measurements and investigations involving the dismantling of surviving lighting fixtures and electrical systems in Huijeongdang and Daejojeon, the Housing Studio worked with craftspeople across several disciplines to repair the fixtures and adapt them to modern voltage and technical standards. The chandeliers and other lights were illuminated once again, restoring the interiors’ original function and atmosphere.The Clothing Studio recreated the fabric that surrounded the chandelier suspended from the ceiling of Daejojeon’s main hall. Through close analysis of the fabric’s thickness, weave, pattern arrangement and sewing techniques, the studio reproduced the form of the original. Newly weaving the fabric to replace the damaged material helped restore a sense of completeness to the interior, alongside the renewed lighting.
