옷공방은 재단법인 아름지기가 주관한 〈궁궐 전각 정비 및 내부 집기 재현〉 프로젝트에 참여하여, 덕수궁 함녕전에 드리울 무렴자를 제작하였다. 무렴자는 겨울철 찬바람을 막기 위해 창문이나 방문에 치는 막으로, 낮에는 위로 말아 올려 고리에 걸어 두었던 왕실의 생활 용구다. 왕실의 생활상을 전하는 문헌 자료와 유물을 토대로, 소재·색상·무늬뿐 아니라 바늘땀의 길이와 개수, 실의 굵기에 이르기까지 섬세하게 복원하였다.
Clothing Studio participated in the 'Palace Hall Restoration and Interior Furnishings Reproduction' project organised by the Arumjigi Foundation, creating a 'muryeomja(무렴자)' for Hamnyeongjeon(함녕전) at Deoksugung Palace(덕수궁). Used in royal households, a muryeomja is a curtain hung over windows or doorways to keep out cold winter air. During the day, it was rolled up and secured on hooks. Drawing on historical documents and surviving objects that offer insight into life at the royal court, the studio carefully recreated every detail, from the materials, colors and patterns to the length and number of stitches and the thickness of the thread.
