『Jeong: The Spirit of Korean Craft and Design』 출간 기념 연계 전시는 사람과 사물 사이에 천천히 쌓이는 ‘정(情)’을 통해 한국 공예와 디자인의 미학을 조명하는 전시다.
The exhibition celebrating the publication of "Jeong: The Spirit of Korean Craft and Design" explores the aesthetics of Korean craft and design through jeong (情), the affection and attachment that gradually develop between people and objects. Like the patina of a well-used bowl or the warmth retained in a much-worn garment, jeong describes how time and everyday relationships become embedded in objects. It is a value that has long sustained Korean craft and ways of living.Published by the art and design publisher Phaidon, the book asks what makes Korean craft distinctly Korean, exploring jeong as a sense of connection between makers, materials, and users. Across three venues—Arumjigi’s Tongui-dong headquarters, its hanok in Anguk-dong, and Onjium’s headquarters—the exhibition brings together photographs and craft works featured in the book, giving physical presence to the relationships between people, objects, and spaces recorded in its pages.Onjium presents works from the book on the ground floor of its headquarters for approximately two weeks, sharing the beauty of craft that deepens through everyday use and the relationships it holds. Created through the combined care and contributions of author Hyojung Lee, Arumjigi, Onjium, SOL studio, and the participating artists, the exhibition offers an occasion to reflect on the invisible values that sustain Korean craft and the ways in which jeong takes shape.
